Like it or not Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN reboot and its sequel were popular enough (with somebody) to warrant a third film. Zombie’s films were grimy and excessive not really understanding the masterful suspense of Carpenter’s original film and going with a lurid grindhouse style instead. The world was about to get HALLOWEEN 3D this October on the 26th right before the big day, but now this is no longer the case.

Not frame one of the film has even been shot so it’s not a case of them having a turkey on their hands. At one point the MY BLOODY VALENTINE/DRIVE ANGRY duo of Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer were writing a script during 2009 but this version no longer seems to be active. 

Word is that Dimension Films are still fielding pitches for the troubled third sequel (technically the 11th HALLOWEEN film I think) but there will definitely be no film in 2012. Boo hoo…
