Almost eight years on from THE DESCENT, it’s about time we got another good yarn about a bunch of poor sods trapped underground while simultaneously being stalked by mysterious creatures. (Note: We didn’t include THE DESCENT: PART 2 because let’s face it, it’s best if we don’t acknowledge that movie’s existence.) Step forward newly formed genre outfit Revolver Pictures, who aim to give us our fix with BENEATH, a tale of miners trapped in a collapsed coal mine while investigating weirdness. Unfortunately, the movie will go the found footage route, so expect a whole lotta sickly night vision to top up your nausea levels.

Director Ben Ketai has today signed on to helm, which will excite true aficionados of 2007’s 30 DAYS OF NIGHT (he directed the little-seen spin-offs BLOOD TRAILS; DUST TO DUST and DARK DAYS).
