Writer/director/Geek God, Joss Whedon, recently spoke to MTV about the newly titled AVENGERS ASSEMBLE sequel, AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. One topic that came up was that of Scarlet Johansson’s Black Widow.

Whedon said, “Natasha is a huge part of the sequel because you do want to concentrate on the people who don’t have their own franchises, although she is in CAPTAIN AMERICA 2. She was the most fun for me because she’s not a hero, she’s a spy. And that just makes her so interesting to me. The stuff I’ve got going on with her in the second one is killer.”

Whedon has previously confirmed that Hawkeye will be getting a much larger role this time out, with general consensus being that he will actually be killed off in the sequel. Now speculation is also suggesting that this may be Black Widow’s fate too. Either way, more Scarlett on our screens is always a good thing.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON opens May 1st 2015.
