Classic seventies horror comic is to make a return to print, thanks to 2000 AD publisher Rebellion. Misty came out in 1978 and was aimed at an audience of young girls. Rebellion will begin reprinting stories from the pages of Misty from September 2016. The first book will be Moonchild, a tale about a girl with telekinetic powers, written by Pat Mills.

Pat Mills said: “I designed Misty to be a female 2000 AD with the emphasis on magic and horror, rather than science fiction; it was very successful and is fondly remembered today.  The stories chosen for the graphic novel are regarded by Misty readers as the very best with stunning, powerful and scary art.  It’s great to see them back in print and I hope they will form the vanguard of a girls’ comic revival that is long, long overdue.

Misty only ran for just under two years, with just over a 100 issues making it to print. Fans have been campaigning for its return ever since. STARBURST hopes that the reprints will be a success, and you never know, we may yet see a weekly horror comic with a mostly female characters making it to print in the future.
