Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich has signed on to star alongside James Franco in the actor-turned-director’s upcoming sci-fi thriller Future World.
Jovovich revealed the news on her Instagram page, saying, “Had so much fun on set last week, filming this post-apocalyptic fairytale #futureworld with @jamesfrancoty. I can’t wait for you all to see it!”
As well as headlining the film with Jovovich, Franco will co-direct alongside Bruce Thierry Chung. Deadline reports that Future World is set in a post-apocalyptic world “plagued with heat, ravaged by disease and crippled by chronic war.” A young boy is at the centre of the tale as he desperately seeks medicine for his dying mother. Jovovich will appear as a drug lord in the film.
Future World is yet to be given a confirmed release date.
