With Ghost Rider having recently become part of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Spirit of Vengeance himself, Gabriel Luna, has been talking about future solo outings for the character.

Speaking to ComicBookMovie.com, the actor, who plays the Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider in the show, was asked about transitioning from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to leading his own adventure. “I don’t have a preference,” Luna said, “People talk about ‘Ah man, he’d be great as a feature,’ which is an idea too… It could be in the cinema, it could live on Netflix, whatever it is.”

Luna then elaborated on having already had some discussions on a possible TV series for this take on Ghost Rider, explaining, “It’s been talked about, there’s definitely deals in place for that potential. But I just take it one day at a time. I have so much fun now, I just want to make sure I get these episodes right. If they throw more episodes on my plate, I will do my best to do well with those stories as well.”

Given how well Marvel has done with their Netflix shows to date, taking the Spirit of Vengeance to that platform could well fare well for the character. After all, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage have shown how gritty and brutal Marvel’s Netflix-exclusive shows can get. Throwing Ghost Rider into that playground would likely serve the character better than another big screen outing right now.

Of course, until something official is announced, this is all pie in the sky for now. Either way, Ghost Rider is a character who deserves better than what we’ve seen in the Nicolas Cage-starring movies, and maybe, just maybe, there’s a brighter future ahead for one of Marvel’s darkest heroes.
