Marc Webb, the filmmaker behind such blockbusters as The Amazing Spider-Man duology, is set to direct the upcoming Bermuda Triangle adventure thriller from Skydance.
Bermuda has not been without obstacles: another Spider-Man director, Sam Raimi, was at one point attached, followed by Sinister’s Scott Derrickson, who boarded in 2020 after exiting the Doctor Strange sequel. Chris Evans was even attached to that latter iteration.
Very little is known about the project, and a writer has yet to be attached, but we do know that it will be set in the mysterious patch of the Caribbean ocean where planes and ships have mysteriously continued to go missing over the years. Marc Webb is expected to consult on the script once it’s written, but will not be co-writing the screenplay, writes Deadline.
Best known for his breakout comedy (500) Days of Summer, Webb recently directed Disney’s live-action adaptation of Snow White starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot. He also directed an episode of the Disney+ series Just Beyond.
