Currently available on Amazon Prime in the UK, FOX has moved to renew Lucifer for a second season.

FOX’s David Madden revealed the news, saying, “We knew we had something special with Lucifer, from the engaging performances of Tom and the rest of the charismatic cast, to Len Wiseman’s visually stunning look of the show and the amazing storytelling savvy of the Bruckheimer team.”

In the US, Lucifer has been averaging 10.5 million viewers per episode, marking it as the highest-rated new series of this TV year amongst the ever-important 18 – 49 demographic.

The show is based on the comic book characters of Neil Gaiman, Sam Keith and Mike Dringenberg, following Ellis’ titular Lucifer as he lands on Earth after becoming fed up of life in hell. There, he ends up working alongside a homicide detective as he begins to wonder if there is indeed some hope still for his depraved soul.
