It seems that wherever you turn right now, there’s constant talk and excitement over Pokemon GO. And now comes word that there’s talks once more of doing a live-action Pokemon movie.

Deadline is reporting that Legendary Pictures is currently looking into the possibility of developing the beloved property for a big screen, live-action offering, following on from reports earlier in the year that several studios were entering a bidding war for the live-action rights. There’s no further details whatsoever on this right now, bar the fact that the recent buzz around Pokemon GO has given proceedings a kick in the backside.

Pokemon began life over in Japan in 1996, and before you knew it there were Pokemon video games, trading card games, anime series, animated movies, and more merchandise than we’d like to remember. In total, there has been a whopping nineteen animated movies to date, but this would mark the first live-action film to be developed.

The recent debut of Pokemon GO has thrust the property firmly back into the public eye, with many a person patrolling the streets and countryside in search of finding Pokemon in their area.
