With the award-winning series Ted Lasso coming to a close, actress Juno Temple (who real ones will know for her roles in cinematic masterpieces St Trinian’s and Wild Child) looks to be starring opposite Tom Hardy in Sony and Marvel’s Venom 3, Deadline reveals.

Temple has previously been cast in comic book movies, having been part of 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises and 2014’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Other feature credits include Horns and Maleficent.

Long-time franchise writer Kelly Marcel will be taking on directorial duties on this upcoming threequel. Marcel and Hardy will both produce, with Marcel also writing the screenplay from a story she co-wrote with Hardy.

Plot details on Eddie Brock/Venom’s third solo outing are, of course, being kept top secret, including any information regarding who Juno Temple may play in the film or on which characters from the expanding Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters could join the project.

Sony has a number of Marvel films in the pipeline, including the Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Russell Crowe, and Ariana DeBose-starring Kraven the Hunter, which will release October 6th, 2023, and Madame Web, starring Dakota Johnson, Adam Scott and Sydney Sweeney, which is set for February 16th, 2024. Given the many delays that have plagued both productions however, it’s possible these release dates will change again. Meanwhile, Venom 3 does not yet have a release date.
