Ian McShane is returning to the Continental Hotel in Ballerina, per a THR exclusive. The actor is set to star opposite Ana de Armas in the John Wick spin-off feature, which began production earlier this week, reprising his role as Winston, manager of the Continental Hotel, a haven for assassins and centrepiece of the John Wick universe.

Len Wiseman (Underworld) directs from a script by Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead, Parabellum) in a film about a young woman (de Armas) with great skill seeking revenge on those who murdered her family. The ballerina-turned-assassin previously made a brief appearance in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, played at the time by Unity Phelan.

Another project to keep an eye out for is the upcoming prequel series The Continental, that will follow a young Winston and explore how he and his team of confederates found their way to the titular hotel. The series is due to release on Prime Video sometime in 2023.

Ian McShane will also be reprising his franchise role in the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4, which is due to release on March 23rd of next year. The actor was most recently seen as Mr. Wednesday in the Neil Gaiman series American Gods and had a voice role in Netflix’s animated fantasy, My Father’s Dragon.
