Fans of Gerry Anderson will be delighted to know that there’s an event being held in Derby in June to celebrate the classic series UFO.

S.H.A.D.O.Con, the first UK convention for the show in over thirty years, takes place on Saturday, June 3rd at the Derby Quad Cinema and has already got an amazing line-up of guests to make it an essential date in any fan’s calendar.

Among those already confirmed to attend are veteran star Michael Jayston, who guest starred in the episode The Sound of Silence, series regular Ayshea Brough (who played Lt. Ayshea Johnson), Keith Alexander (Lt. Ford), and Shane Rimmer – who appeared in three UFO episodes and was the voice of Scott Tracy in Anderson’s Thunderbirds. Also making his first ever convention appearance will be scriptwriter Ruric Powell, who wrote The Dalotek Affair and Conflict. More guests will be announced soon.

As well as the guests, there will be displays from model makers and dealers’ tables, screenings of episodes and a raffle in aid of the convention’s nominated charity, Macmillan Cancer Support. The guests will also be available for autograph sessions.

Tickets for the event are priced £45 and are available here.
