Currently on its mid-season breaks, Marvel’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. has added Edward James Olmos to its ranks. Olmos will be playing Robert Gonzales, a character created for the show and one who will have “massive repercussions for Director Coulson and his team.”

Olmos is best known to genre fans for his role as William Adama in BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, and he’s also had stints in the likes of DEXTER, AMERICAN FAMILY and an Emmy-winning turn in MIAMI VICE, not to mention big screens roles in the likes of BLADE RUNNER and 2 GUNS.

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. returns to US screens in March, with the second half of Season 2 to air shortly after in the UK. Olmos’ Gonzales is expected to debut in one of the first episodes back for the show.
