With 47 Meters Down: Uncaged having just yesterday received its UK DVD release, we’ve got official confirmation from director Johannes Roberts that a third 47 Meters Down offering is already being lined up.

Ahead of Uncaged’s UK release, we managed to grab some time with Roberts to discuss the sequel to his 2017 picture. And it was in amongst this chatter that the director revealed that plans are afoot for a third entry in the 47 Meters Down franchise.

Johannes explained, “We haven’t officially announced a third, but we’ve now crossed over $110 million worldwide. There will definitely be a third. I think I personally, as a director, have taken my 47 Meters Down journey to its completion, but yes, we are definitely in talks at the moment for a third one.”

As alluded to there, that first 47 Meters Down took home an impressive $62 million from a budget of just $5 million. Likewise, 47 Meters Down: Uncaged took just shy of $50 million from a $12 million budget.

Expect more on this third 47 Meters Down movie as we get it – and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for our full interview with Johannes Roberts appearing online shortly.
