As Season 2 of The
Flash gets set to speed back to screens shortly, it looks as if a familiar face
will be returning to join Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen.

During the first season, Tom Cavanagh was fantastic as
S.T.A.R. Labs’ head honcho, Dr. Harrison Wells. Then, in a shocking twist,
Wells was revealed to actually be Eobard Thawne, aka the Reverse-Flash who was
responsible for killing Barry’s mother and for tormenting him throughout Season
1. Things took even more of a twist when we saw the real Harrison Wells being
essentially killed and having his identity stolen by the stranded Thawne. Well
fans of the brilliant Cavanagh can rest easy, for we’d been previously told
that the actor would indeed be back in some way, and now executive producer
Gabrielle Stanton has teased Wells’ Season 2 status.

Speaking to TVLine,
Stanton said, “Harrison Wells will be back, but he’s going to be a very different
Harrison Wells than we’ve seen before. We’ve got other worlds. We’ve got other
timelines. All I’m going to say is he’s from one of those places.”

The Flash is due
to return to US screens on October 6th, with a UK return expected to follow
shortly after.
