In some great news for horror hounds, genre favourite Danielle Harris is stepping back behind the camera to direct an upcoming slasher titled Sequel.

As first picked up on by Bloody Disgusting, Harris will be directing Sequel for Joe Dante and Mark Alan’s Renfield Productions banner. In addition to winning plentiful plaudits for her work in the likes of the Halloween and Hatchet franchises, Harris made the move into directing with the impressive Prank and Among Friends in 2008 and 2012, respectively.

Plot details are minimal for Sequel at this early juncture, although the movie is pegged as a darkly comedic all-female slasher penned by Severance’s James Moran.

The official press release on Sequel reads:

Written by notable British scribe James Moran (Doctor Who, Torchwood, Severance), Sequel promises to be a brash, unashamed spectacle led by an all-star cast of take-no-prisoner heroines, and presented by a high-calibre line-up of filmmakers. There is currently no set date for production, but Renfield anticipates that cameras will roll by the second or third quarter of 2021.

Expect more on Sequel as we get it.
