With horror TV having had a huge surge in quality and popularity in recent years, now comes word on a new horror-comedy series on the way.
Via Deadline, Courteney Cox and Greg Kinnear are teaming for Starz pilot offering titled Shining Vale.
From Divorce creator Sharon Horgan and Trial & Error’s Jeff Astrof, Shining Vale is looking to be picked up for a full season of half-hour episodes.
The early word on Shining Vale reads:
Written by Horgan and Astrof, Shining Vale is about a dysfunctional family that moves from the city to a small town into a house in which terrible atrocities have taken place. But no one seems to notice except for Pat (Cox), the mom, who’s convinced she’s either depressed or possessed – turns out, the symptoms are exactly the same. Everyone has their demons – but are Pat’s real? Or is the portrait of a typical family torn apart by mental illness? Kinnear will play Terry Phelps, Pat’s sweet, sensitive husband.
Warner Bros. Television and Lionsgate are working with Starz on the pilot.
