Seven years in development was a hell of a time to call it quits on its anticipated TITAN project, but Blizzard rarely conform to expectation, instead taking the game and going in a completely different direction altogether.

Announced at this year’s Blizzcon event, OVERWATCH is the companies impressive new shooter, its first new franchise in 17 years! A trailer boasting gorgeous fluid animation was revealed at the event, showing of the stylised look of the game.

The game is a team based, multiplayer 6V6 shooter with an emphasis on over-the-top characters; think XCOM meets BORDERLANDS. The plot is simple stuff, set in a near-future, players take up the mantle of ‘mercenaries, scientists, and adventurers’ and battle in familiar arenas, Egypt or the streets of London, for example. 12 characters were available to play at the event, with more on the way.
