Bafflegab Productions has announced a new series – THE BRENDA AND EFFIE MYSTERIES by Paul Magrs. Available from December 2014, there will be four episodes, each chronicling the adventures of that most mysterious of Whitby landladies, Brenda, accompanied by her friend, part-time witch Effie.

Anne Reid (LAST TANGO IN HALIFAX) stars as Brenda and Paul Magrs (Iris Wildthyme), who also wrote the wonderful VINCE COSMOS (released by Bafflegab in 2012), writes the stories. Brenda and Effie first appeared in book form in NEVER THE BRIDE in 2006 and have since starred in a total of six novels, and NEVER THE BRIDE was adapted for Radio 4 Extra, first broadcast in 2008.

This series makes an excellent stepping-on point as it chronicles the first adventures of Brenda and Effie as happened before NEVER THE BRIDE.

Available on download only, Bafflegab will release the first story, THE WOMAN IN A BLACK BEEHIVE, in December 2014. Episodes are available individually or on subscription – subscribers will also receive a free copy of VINCE COSMOS and other bonuses.
