THOR: THE DARK WORLD was the first Marvel Studios movie to make its presence felt in AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. before CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER completely changed the game. Now comes confirmation that, to the surprise of nobody, the upcoming AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON will also tie to the show.

Speaking to EW, executive producer Jed Whedon said, “You should expect something. THE AVENGERS is the big tent that all the franchises play under. Obviously, we’re included in that.”

Fellow executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen added, “I don’t think any movie has the potential to impact us in the way that CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 did, but there will be connections.”

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is set for an April 24th, 2015 UK release and a May 1st, 2015 global release, which ties in nicely to the last few episodes of AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Season 2.
