Neil Marshall, best known for his work on The Descent, Lost in Space, Game of Thrones, and Dog Soldiers, is reteaming with The Reckoning actress Charlotte Kirk for the upcoming psychological thriller The Spiral Down. Marshall will write the script, with Aaron Mirtes (Whiskey Run) directing.

In The Spiral Down, “a serial killer obsessed with perfection kidnaps Mary Doyle (Kirk), but as detectives close in, they discover that Mary is far from a victim. She is a dangerous escapee from a psychiatric institution with a violent past of her own. After killing her captor and disappearing without a trace, the investigation is turned on its head, leaving law enforcement hunting an even greater threat.”

This marks the fifth collaboration between Marshall and Kirk, the pair having previously worked together on The Reckoning, The Lair, Duchess, and most recently, Compulsion.

Marshall, Kirk and Karlos Ways will produce, with Kirk producing for Primal Empire Studios. Filming is expected to begin next month, and further casting is presently underway.
