As Tom Holland’s Wallcrawler gets set to debut later this month in Captain America: Civil War, Spidey’s upcoming solo movie has added a new cast member in the shape of Shake It Up’s Zendaya.

According to Deadline, the 19-year-old singer-cum-actress, also known formally as Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman, has landed the role of Michelle. No details are known on just who Michelle is or what role the character will play, but she’s supposedly going to be one of the leads of Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man movie.

Not much is known about this Spidey reboot right now, with things expected to be a lot clearer once Civil War is done with. As well as Holland as Peter Parker, the only other previously confirmed cast member is Marissa Tomei, who’ll be playing Aunt May. Rumours suggest that this new Spider-Man franchise may be dubbed The Spectacular Spider-Man, although those reports are unconfirmed at this stage.

Tom Holland will debut as Spider-Man when Captain America: Civil War hits UK screens on April 29th before then getting his own adventure, to be directed by Jon Watts, on July 7th, 2017.
