Following news earlier this week that Annabelle Wallis was getting set to join Universal’s redo of The Mummy, now comes word that Jake Johnson is in talks to join the film.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that the Jurassic World actor is in talks to play a military sort in Alex Kurtzman’s movie. Presumably, he’ll be tied to Tom Cruise’s character, who is said to be a military agent tasked with tackling Sofia Boutella’s titular monster. As mentioned, Annabelle Wallis is also on board, and she’ll be playing an archaeologist.

Kurtzman’s The Mummy is set to kick off a new shared monster universe for Universal Pictures when it hits cinemas on June 9th, 2017.
