Wonder Man is the latest Marvel superhero getting the small screen treatment, with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton teaming with Andrew Guest to helm the live-action series.

Guest, who served as a writer and producer on comedy series like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Community, also comes to the project with previous Marvel experience, having worked as a consulting producer on last year’s Hawkeye series. Guest will serve as head writer on the Marvel series, with Cretton executive producing and likely directing one or more episodes. The pair will act as co-creators of the Wonder Man series.

Wonder Man is one of Marvel’s oldest characters, first introduced in 1964; originally a villain imbued with ionic energy, he was reconceived as a superhero and Avenger in the late 70s. No word yet on when the series might go into production, yet alone when it might launch; a bunch more Marvel shows are sure to come out ahead of this latest take, with Ms. Marvel in the middle of its run and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law due to hit Disney+ in August. The Samuel L. Jackson-fronted Secret Invasion and Ironheart are also on deck, with half a dozen more shows in development beyond that. Where Wonder Man might fit into the timeline is therefore guesswork at best.

But as always, stay tuned for more information as we hear it!
