With the first season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow now in the books, it’s been revealed that Vixen will be joining Rip Hunter’s crew for the series’ second season.

TV Insider is reporting the news, although there’s a slight twist to things. Megalyn Echikunwoke, who appeared as the character in Arrow’s fourth season and also voiced the animal-channeling heroine in CW Seed’s animated Vixen, won’t be back as Mari McCabe this time around. Instead, using the whole concept of time-travel, we’ll actually get an earlier version of Vixen from the past. This other Vixen will also explore the historical connection between them and the Vixen that we’ve been introduced to already. For what it’s worth, Megalyn Echikunwoke will still provide the voice of Vixen for the animated show.

As soon as DC’s Legends of Tomorrow was announced, we heard how there were plans to have the titular team be made up of a rotating roster, and the close of the first season saw it made clear that changes were a-coming.

With Vixen now confirmed to join Rip Hunter’s Legends, now we’ll have to wait and see if any other new heroes join Hunter’s motley crew.
