With Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant gathering some momentum as its cast starts to flesh out, the film has now had its release date brought forward. Additionally, there’s also a confirmed release date for Shane Black’s upcoming Predator movie.

Pro.BoxOffice.com broke the news via their Twitter account. Scott’s Prometheus follow-up will be hitting screens on August 4th, 2017 rather than the previously-announced October 6th, 2017. At present, the film’s cast is made up of Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demian Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Jussie Smollet, Amy Seimetz, Callie Hernandez, Alexander England, and the returning Michael Fassbender. It’s also believed that Billy Crudup is close to landing a role in the film.

As for Shane Black’s Predator, that will be arriving in cinemas on March 2nd, 2018. No real details are known on that film at this stage, just that it won’t be either a reboot or any sort of prequel to the original 1987 Predator.

Expect more on both of these projects as they develop.
