Despite news circling just last week that the long-planned sequel to 2009’s ZOMBIELAND was officially dead, today comes some great news that should more than make it up to fans – the TV show spin-off appears to be once again quietly developing over at CBS.

Script pages were discovered from a recent casting call by entertainment site IO9, and you can read their notes by heading HERE. It looks like the main parts of Tallahasee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock (originally played by Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenburg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin respectively) are being completely recast, so this will act as a reboot of sorts.

Those familiar with the genesis of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick’s creation will already know that ZOMBIELAND started life as a TV show, and it was only when they couldn’t get it off the ground that they decided to expand the pilot into a feature. And as fun as the movie was, we’d be lying if that didn’t show in the final product. It’s nice to see that things have come circle since the idea is much more suited to the serialized nature of television anyway.

Hopefully we’ll have more on the progress of the show soon…
