With The CW having already stated that their upcoming THE FLASH will exist in the same universe as ARROW, not to mention production on THE FLASH gathering pace (pun firmly intended), the network has confirmed that an upcoming episode of ARROW will see the introduction of some soon-to-be-familiar characters from THE FLASH.

The official word from THE CW reads:

“Last fall on ARROW, Grant Gustin was introduced as Barry Allen, the boy who would become The Flash. Now, you’ll meet several new faces from The CW spin-off before the season is over. Episode 19 of ARROW, titled THE MAN UNDER THE HOOD is penned by the trio behind THE FLASH – Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg – and will introduce two characters from the spin-off: S.T.A.R. Labs’ bioengineering expert Caitlin, played by Danielle Panabaker, and mechanical engineering genius Cisco, played by Carlos Valdes. Jesse Warren directed the episode. ARROW executive producer Marc Guggenheim described it as ‘an important appearance.’

Panabaker’s Caitlin is Caitlin Snow, aka Killer Frost, whilst Valdes’ Cisco is Cisco Ramon, aka Vibe.

As well as Gustin, Panabaker and Valdes, THE FLASH has also cast Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen, Rick Gosnett as Eddie Thawne/Professor Zoom, Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells, Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Detective West and former Flash John Wesley Shipp in an unspecified role, rumoured to be Barry Allen’s father.

The pilot for THE FLASH is currently in production. As for THE MAN UNDER THE HOOD, that should be airing in around a month’s time in the UK.
