The cast of CBS’ upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s UNDER THE DOME continues to shape up nicely, with two more additions. First up, Dean Norris (left) has lined up his first post-BREAKING BAD role (in preparation for the series ending later this year) as Big Jim, councilman of Chester Mill, the town which wakes up to find itself cut off from the rest of the world by a mysterious dome.

CLOVERFIELD’s Mike Vogel (right) meanwhile, will play Dale “Barbie” Barbara, one of the story’s lead characters. (We have to wonder what this means for the fate of his BATES MOTEL character!)

Vogel and Morris join the previously announced Aisha Hinds and Colin Ford. Expect lots more casting news to come…

Official Synopsis:

UNDER THE DOME is the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from, and if and when it will go away.

UNDER THE DOME is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Amblin Television. Neal Baer, Stephen King, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider, and Brian K. Vaughan, who wrote the television adaptation, will serve as executive producers. Acclaimed director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) will direct the first episode.
