After months of wondering whether SyFy’s super powered procedural would be back for a 3rd season, confirmation that it won’t be came from the show’s stars and SyFy themselves, who made this statement:

“Syfy has decided not to renew Alphas for a third season. We’ve been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at BermanBraun Television. We’d like to thank the show’s dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support.”

Ryan Cartwright, who played autistic EMS viewer Gary Bell, tweeted “Unfortunately #Alphas is cancelled”, he was joined by fellow cast members Warren Christie (Cameron) and Azita Ghanizada (Rachel) who posted “Thanks for tuning in the last couple of years!” and
“What an honor to get to play Rachel for 2 years & to work w/ & for the MOST AMAZING PEOPLE EVER,” respectively.

Given its low viewing figures it’s hardly a surprise .
