Supernatural detective drama Rivers of London will be adapted for television. Ben Aaronvitch’s rather splendid urban fantasy book will be turned into a show by production company Feel Films, who’s previous credits include adaptions of the children’s book Skellig as well as the upcoming Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell.

Rivers of London follows the misadventures of Metropolitan Police Constable, Peter Grant, who’s life is changed forever when a case brings him to the attention of attention of Inspector Nightingale, the last wizard in England. Aaronvitch’s name may be familiar to fans of the seventh Doctor; he wrote Remembrance of The Daleks and Battlefield. It is not clear as yet if the other books in the series, Moon Over Soho and Whispers Underground are also being considered for adaption, but if they are, this is a TV show that could run and run. No casting news been released as to who will get to play Peter Grant, but we have our fingers crossed for Patterson Joseph.
