Zing!

Ignoring the fact that nobody liked that glorified Apple commercial BLADE TRINITY (including Snipes himself), and that even fewer bothered to tune into the short-lived live-action TV show, Marvel have gone ahead and developed an animated series based on the Daywalker’s adventures.

A Stateside premiere date of January 13th 2012 has now been announced, with the G4 channel airing. No word on a UK pick-up as of yet however, so definitely DO NOT torrent it.

Here’s the original Japanese trailer again for those who missed it last time (still no English language version we’re afraid, but rest assured there will be soon)…

Synopsis time…

‘Blade’s mother was bitten by a vampire while pregnant, imbuing her unborn son with vampire strength and a thirst for blood, but without the vulnerability to sunlight. A master of weaponry with a desire to avenge the death of his mother, Blade finds himself in Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia in an effort to take down the evil villain, Deacon Frost. With vampire hunter Makoto at his side, they will stop at nothing to destroy Existence, a vampire organization with roots deeply embedded in Asia.’

Being banged up for for tax evasion, Snipes couldn’t return to voice, with LOST’s Harold Perrineau talking over. Bit of an odd choice that if you ask us. Madhouse meanwhile, the studio behind such anime classics as NINJA SCROLLS, VAMPIRE HUNTER D and DEATH NOTE, are producing the series, which will have an initial run of 12 episodes.

And remember those of you outside of the US, no downloading ok? You might just end of being bunk buddies with Snipes himself.
