At STARBURST we get pretty excited by all things THUNDERBIRDS and we’ve keeping a keen eye on Modiphius Entertainment, who have promised to produce the definitive THUNDERBIRDS game. The company has launched a KICKSTARTER campaign this morning and it looks set to smash its goals very quickly indeed.
Modiphius Entertainment has teamed up with world class games designer Matt Leacock, who is responsible for co-operative games such as PANDEMIC and FORBIDDEN ISLAND.
THUNDERBIRDS THE CO-OPERATIVE BOARD GAME pits players against the world itself as they try to keep a lid on various disasters and thwart the machinations of The Hood. The game will also feature detailed models of the iconic rescue craft, and the set will additionally include character figures of the Tracy brothers, Scott, Virgil, Alan, Gordon and John, as well as Lady Penelope, FAB 1 and The Hood.
The game itself is slated to be released in August; the Kickstarter is to secure pre-orders and the more pledges the Kickstarter gets, the more quality components will be added to the basic set. Expansion packs are also planned depending on public interest. This has become standard practice in the board game industry as it ensures a better quality of production.
