It’s seventh season isn’t quite upon us yet, but AMC has already moved to confirm The Walking Dead for an eighth year. Season 8 of the walker-centric show will arrive in late 2017 and will start with the series’ 100th episode.

On this news, AMC’s Charlie Collier said, “Eeny, meeny, miny, more. What a joy to partner with Robert Kirkman, Scott M. Gimple and some of the hardest-working people in television to bring The Walking Dead to the fans. And, most important, thanks to those fans for breathing life into this remarkable series right along with us.”

In addition to this, Talking Dead has also been renewed. Just to give you an idea of how popular the post-Walking Dead talk show is, it’s the #2 show on all of cable in the US… behind, of course, The Walking Dead.

Season 7 of The Walking Dead premieres in the US on Sunday, October 23rd, with a UK return set for the following night.
