Netflix has released the official trailer for their sci-fi, supernatural series The Imperfects, following three twenty-something-year-old gene therapy test subjects affected by “unfortunate side effects” that grant them the abilities of famous folk monsters: that of a Banshee, a Chupacabra, and a Succubus. The mismatched trio must work together to find a cure and get payback on those who performed the ill-fated experiments.

The Imperfects was created, written, and executive produced by Shelley Eriksen and Dennis Heaton, the duo behind The Order, another supernatural Netflix series. Also producing are the creative minds behind Fargo and Van Helsing.

Per Netflix’s logline, the drama also centres Dr. Sydney Burke (Italia Ricci), a brilliant scientist looking to fix her past mistakes – both professional and ethical – who allies with Abbi (Rhianna Jagpal), Juan (Iñaki Godoy) and Tilda (Morgan Taylor Campbell) to track down the scientist responsible for their grim fates. Meanwhile, Dr. Alex Sarkov (Rhys Nicholson), a former child prodigy, refuses to let anyone or anything interfere with his goal of rewriting the human genome and ushering in the next stage of human evolution.

The Imperfects will consist of 10 hour-long episodes which will release to Netflix on September 8th. Check out the trailer below:
