The CW has announced its autumn premiere dates, among them the series debut of the Supernatural prequel The Winchesters. Missing from the usual sci-fi/genre shows schedule are Legends of Tomorrow, Legacies, Batwoman, Naomi, Charmed, Roswell: New Mexico, and 4400, which were all cancelled earlier this year.
DC’s Stargirl will premiere its third season – which is subtitled Frenemies – on the 31st of August. Series star Brec Bassinger recently teased that the new season will feature a murder mystery plotline that will see both hero and villain try to figure out who the killer is. The recently-released teaser trailer also sets up the return of Joel McHale’s Sylvester Pemberton/Starman, which should create some interesting conflict.
The season 3 premiere of Walker will air on October 6th, followed that same evening by the series premiere of its prequel, Walker: Independence. The latter stars Matt Barr and Katherine McNamara (Arrowverse, Shadowhunters) and is executive produced by Walker star Jared Padalecki. Independence is set in the late 1800s and follows an affluent Bostonian named Abby Walker (McNamara), whose husband is murdered in front of her while on their trek out West. Consumed by a need for vengeance, Abby crosses paths with Hoyt Rawlins (Barr), a lovable rogue in search of a purpose. The pair soon find themselves in Independence, Texas, where they encounter a diverse and eclectic cohort of citizens hiding from their demons and chasing their dreams, all while becoming agents of change themselves in the small town.
The Winchesters will debut on October 11th. The CW Supernatural prequel centres on Sam and Dean’s parents, John and Mary Winchester. It follows the untold love story of how John (Drake Rodger) met Mary (Meg Donnelly) and how they put all things on the line to save the world; the series is narrated by Jensen Ackles’ Dean.
