Arriving on Syfy this September, lukewarm on the heels of the TV phenomenon THE WALKING DEAD, (but pointedly, a few weeks ahead of the return of AMC’s hit show in October) is the brand new post-apocalyptic zombie series Z NATION. Starring Harold (LOST) Perrineau, Tom Everett Scott, DJ Qualls and, curiously, Britain’s Keith Allen, the series is set three years after the zombie apocalypse and tells of the efforts of a group of survivors to transport the only survivor immune to the virus three thousand miles from New York to California where the last functioning viral lab waits for his blood which, it’s hoped, can create a vaccine.

The thirteen-episode series, filmed in Washington, is the first TV commission for The Asylum, the low-budget filmmakers whose past credits include SHARKNADO, 2-HEADED SHARK ATTACK, MEGA-PYTHON VS. GATOROID and ATLANTIC RIM. Expectations are, understandably, not high.
