Today brings word from CBS that the network has ordered an extra seven episodes of Supergirl, which brings the show’s first season up to a total of twenty episodes.

Many were uncertain about how well the Melissa Benoist-starring series would do when it was first announced, hence why there was only an initial thirteen episodes ordered. Since debuting earlier this year, Supergirl has averaged 11.24 million viewers per episode in the US.

In fairness to the show, many of us here at Moonbase Alpha were expecting a complete stinker based on the early promo work, yet the end product has been refreshingly solid if not spectacular.

Supergirl currently airs in the UK on Sky 1.
