In some bad news for the Maid of Might, Supergirl has cast The Hat to go up against Melissa Benoist’s titular heroine later this year.

Via ComicBook.com, Louis Ozawa Changchien has signed on to play Rampotatek, aka the nefarious Hat. Changchien is likely best known to genre fans for his appearances in The Man in the High Castle, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Predators and Kidding.

As for The Hat as a character, he debuted as part of the no-nonsense Elite group back in 2001’s Action Comics #775. The Elite themselves are a group of superpowered sorts who seek to fight the good fight by whatever means necessary. That instantly puts them in the crosshairs of Superman, who takes umbrage with their excessive and violent ways of dealing with things.

The Hat is somebody with demonic-esque powers that allow him to breathe fire, summon demons, and even be invincible at times. As a team, The Elite’s roster has featured the likes of Manchester Black, Vera Black, two incarnations of Menagerie, Coldcast, and Bunny. The team were previously featured in 2012’s Superman vs. The Elite animated movie.

In Supergirl, The Hat will team up with Manchester Black, Menagerie, and The Morae to go against the Girl of Steel. The current word is that Hat will debut in the thirteenth episode of Supergirl’s ongoing fourth season.
