Remember how last season saw a brilliant appearance from Grant Gustin’s Flash in an episode of Supergirl? Well the two heroes will be part of a two-part crossover story later this year… but not only that, for these episodes will be musical ones.

Coming out of the show’s TCA panel, it’s been revealed that the second half of The CW’s 2016/17 season of TV will feature this musical crossover. Of course, both Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist, who plays the Maid of Might, both appeared on Glee before donning the spandex. In addition to this, the likes of Carlos Valdes and Jesse L. martin also have a background in music and singing, so expect Cisco Ramon and Joe West to maybe pop up with a tune or two, too.

Producer Sarah Schechter explained, “We’ve got such talented actors. 15 years from now, when the last of these shows is going off the air, that would be a big regret – it’s too much fun not to.”

It’s believed that both episodes of this musical extravaganza will mainly feature pre-existing songs, although producer Greg Berlanti is hopeful of at least one original song in each episode. This two-parter is in addition to the four-way crossover event between Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl that is due to hit screens in December.

The Flash premieres its third season on October 4th, whilst Supergirl’s second season will arrive on October 10th.
