A trailer for the final two episodes of Stranger Things 4, which are released as a ‘Volume 2’ next month, has dropped. “I know you’re frightened. You’re terribly frightened by what you’ve seen. But I’m not gonna lie to you. Your friends are not prepared for this fight. Hawkins will fall,” threatens the trailer’s voiceover as Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill plays – it’s a perfect storm for chills and thrills.
Volume 2 – episodes 8 and 9 of the season – promises two feature-length instalments to conclude Stranger Things‘ fourth season. Given their heft (90 minutes and 140 minutes, respectively), you’d be forgiven for thinking this season will be the last; fear not, as Stranger Things will indeed be returning for a fifth series.
The events of the fourth season take place eight months after the Battle of Starcourt in season 3, as strange deaths tied to the Upside Down cause paranoia among Hawkins’ residents. No spoilers about what happens in season 4’s first seven episodes, but make sure to catch up on the series ahead of the last two episodes.
Stranger Things 4 Volume 2 arrives to Netflix on July 1st. Watch the trailer below, and read our review of Volume 1 here.
