The Mandalorian is making his big-screen debut in the new trailer for Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu. Pedro Pascal is reprising his tutular role as Din Djarin from the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Sigourney Weaver is also starring as Colonel Ward, one of the Rebel Alliance leader.
“This isn’t about revenge. It’s about preventing another war,” Weaver’s character tells Mando and Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) as they’re enlisted to help defend the fledgling New Republic after the evil Empire has collapsed and imperial warlords are scattered around the galaxy.
“We’ll take out every bad guy in your deck of cards,” Mandalorian promises.
Important sightings in this trailer include Rotta the Hutt (voiced by Jeremy Allen White) in some sort of gladiator tournament, and the return of The Book of Boba Fett’s Hutt twins. Also appearing are Zen Orrelios from Rebels, an infant Rodian we can now dub Baby Greedo, and Clone Wars’ bounty hunter Embo, among others.
The project marks the first Star Wars movie since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker and is directed by The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau, from a script he co-wrote with Dave Filoni.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu releases in cinemas on May 22nd. Watch the trailer below:
