With Star Wars: The Clone Wars having now come to an end with a thrilling, emotional seventh season earlier this year, there’s news on a Clone Wars spin-off series on the way.

Via Disney and Lucasfilm, Star Wars: The Bad Batch will be heading to Disney+ in 2021. That animated offering will focus on the infamous Bad Batch of misfit clones introduced formally in that final Clone Wars season.

The Bad Batch are a group of clones who have mutations that give them certain unique abilities.

A brief, early description has been released by the House of Mouse:

In the post-Clone Wars era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to say afloat and find new purpose.

Star Wars fave Dave Filoni is on board as an executive producer for The Bad Batch, with Star Wars: Resistance’s Jennifer Corbett acting as head writing in addition to likewise acting as executive producer.

As mentioned, the current plan is for Star Wars: The Bad Batch to land on Disney+ at some point next year.
