Jonathan Green’s adventure gamebook Herald of Oblivion, which put you in charge of a Terminator armour clad Space Marine, has been turned into a gamebook app by Tin Man Games.

The game sends you to the ominously titled Herald of Oblivion, which is filled with horrible alien monsters including Tyranids, Orks and Dark Eldar. In a plot similar to that of classic board games such as Space Crusade and Space Hulk, your mission is to deal with the Space Hulk so it is no longer a threat to mankind. Fans of the Warhammer 40K universe may also be pleased to learn that it focuses on that most underrated (but highly popular) chapter of Space Marines, The Imperial Fists.

Jonathan Green is best known for his large back catalogue of Fighting Fantasy novels. He also wrote You are the Hero, a history of Fighting Fantasy. Tin Man Games specialise in gamebook apps for mobile devices. Herald of Oblivion will use Tin Man’s critically acclaimed Gamebook Adventures Engine and will use graphics highly reminiscent of Warhammer’s classic style. This app promises to be the first of a series (called Legacy of Dorn Trilogy), and we’re heartily looking forward to it.
