Oscar-winning filmmaker duo the Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert) are headed to a galaxy far, far away: the Everything Everywhere All at Once team is working on the Disney+ Star Wars series Skeleton Crew.

THR reports that the series began filming over the summer and wrapped recently but, as with all Star Wars projects, the series has been shrouded in secrecy. Even as we learn of the Daniels’ involvement, it’s unknown whether they are directing just one episode, or more, of the show.

Skeleton Crew stars Jude Law in an unknown role and hails from the MCU Spider-Man trilogy director Jon Watts. It centres on a group of kids lost in the galaxy who are seeking a way home. Set in the New Republic era (around the same time as The Mandalorian), the series is exec produced by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. The tone of the series has been likened to that of a classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure film of the 1980s.

As London’s Star Wars Celebration draws nearer, you can expect further updates from us on Lucasfilm’s plans and upcoming projects, so stay tuned. The Rosario Dawson-led spinoff series Ahsoka is also expected to release later this year.
