If you’d picked up our Jurassic Park/World-crammed issue (413), you’d have probably read our dino gaming retrospective.

Like us, we’re sure you have fond and frightening memories of Dino Crisis, the 1999 survival horror game. Original game director Shinji Mikami has recently pondered the possibility of returning to the franchise, whose follow-up titles left a lot to be desired.

After accepting the Honour Award at this year’s 11th Gamelab Games and Interactive Entertainment Conference, Mikami, who also directed beat-em-up God Hand 2, stated, I want to keep scaring people. Once I said The Evil Within would be my last game, but I love this job too much.”

Things are rarely that simple, and in this case rights issues would get in the way of any future involvement. Capcom currently hold the rights to both God Hand 2 and Dino Crisis, and Mikami has since parted ways with the company.

We’re crossing all available appendages in the hopes of a new Dino Crisis up to scratch with the original. As ever, expect more as we hear it.
