As soon as Colton Haynes’ Roy Harper appeared in The CW’s ARROW, many wondered whether the character would ever go on to be known by one of his hero aliases (yes, he has a few), such as Speedy, Red Arrow or Arsenal. The CW has answered that question, courtesy of EW, by confirming that Season 3 will see Roy become Arsenal, and they dropped this pretty cool looking image of him all done up in his new duds.

Given how Season 2 ended with Roy donning a mask of sorts, there was always a good chance of him taking on one of his more famous monikers – and at least now he gets to leave the red hoodie in his wardrobe. With Speedy being used as a nickname for Willa Holland’s Thea Queen in the show, and the fact that the Green Arrow name isn’t used at all let alone the Red Arrow name, Arsenal was the best fit for the character.

Now all we need from Roy Harper is for him to become a heroin addict and end up losing an arm. Yep, he’s one of those poor comic book characters that has definitely been put through the ringer over the years.

ARROW returns to The CW on 8th October, one day after THE FLASH debuts. It’s expected that a UK return will follow shortly after for everyone’s favourite Emerald Archer and friends.
