Remember that Blob remake that’s in the works? Well we’ve now got some casting news for it.

The Hollywood Reporter has word that Samuel L. Jackson has joined the film, which is to be directed by Simon West. The Pulp Fiction, Star Wars, Snakes on a Plane and Avengers star will be playing a biochemistry professor who is doing his best to fight off the mysterious titular threat of the movie.

This marks the second time that The Blob has been remade, with the original Steve McQueen-starring film hitting screens in 1958 before getting a sequel in 1972 and a remake in 1988.

This latest redo of The Blob is due to start shooting later this year.
