Back in 2015 it was reported that Skydance were looking to develop a film based around the infamous Bermuda Triangle. Well, in some rather awesome news, it’s now been revealed that Sam Raimi is in talks to direct the picture.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, with the man behind the Evil Dead and Spider-Man trilogies the person Skydance Productions see as their top choice to helm this hotly-anticipated movie. The film already has a story in place, with The Sorcerer’s Apprentice duo of Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard having rewrote a screenplay initially penned by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.

The Bermuda Triangle, of course, is an area that’s so often full of mystery due to all of the ships and planes that have seemingly vanished there over the years. The area itself is located between the Florida Straits, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. Theories on just why so many vessels have disappeared range from aliens, to the paranormal, to any and all crazy (or not so crazy) ideas in between.

As ever, expect more on this as and when it develops.
