It was revealed earlier this year how Guy Ritchie’s Snatch was to be turned in to a TV series, and now comes word that Rupert Grint will be starring in the show.

Crackle, who are developing the series, announced the news, with the actor, who famously played Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, also serving as a producer on the show. Grint’s role is that of Charlie Cavendish, described as dynamic, frustratingly chaotic and utterly posh. He joins a cast that currently includes Dougray Scott as Vic Hill and Ed Westwick as Sonny Castillo.

This new series will have the same setting as Ritchie’s 2000 movie, although it will create a new world of its own based around what was seen in the film. The Musketeers and Jericho’s Nick Renton will be directing the show, with production starting in Manchester next week.

The current plan is for the series to debut next year with ten one-hour episodes.
